Following Sheila Abio’s departure as Head of School, the Board engaged Jeanie Stark, former Head of School, to serve as Interim Head through the end of the 2022-2023 school year. Rachel Duree was appointed as Interim Head for 2023-2024 and worked closely with Jeanie Stark in preparation for 2023-2024. The Board named a search committee and engaged The Education Group (TEG), a national search and consulting firm, to assist with the search.

Process

Our consultants from TEG surveyed the GSES constituency and spent two days on campus meeting with parents, faculty, administrators, and church leadership.

Based on that visit and the survey, TEG drafted and the search committee approved a school and position profile which can be accessed at the link below.

The consultants will cultivate a slate of qualified candidates, interview those candidates and check references, and present the candidates to the search committee.

The committee will select the most qualified candidates and interview them. Finalists will then be chosen and invited to visit the school.

Faculty and parents will have the opportunity to meet all candidates and provide feedback on each.
